A key aspect of range safety is proper target placement. All shooters are required to provide there own target frames. An obvious exception is scheduled events.
Targets must be placed so that bullets passing through or near the target impact the berm directly. DO NOT BE TARGET BLIND. This is particularly important to prevent rounds from exiting the range. Bullet impact depends on the both the placement of the target and the position of the shooter. If you change positions you must reassess where your rounds will impact. This diagram illustrates the effect on impact point with changes in shooter and target position relative to each other and to the berm. When setting up and Always when changing positions look through your target and anticipate the impact point of all shots. Adjust target or position to keep all shots safely within the berm.
